No fish were harmed in taking these photos and all were caught using Spey rods and swung flies :)

A Good Shot

Please don’t overlook the many other articles on the Alaska Flies & Rivers Blog after viewing some of the fishes, the articles discuss the tactics used to get those fish in front of the camera :)

I will depart from my normal program of writing huge texts and just post a string of photos. if you have questions or comments please post them and I’ll reply.

I’m going fishing tomorrow Wednesday November 2nd if the ice isn’t too bad.

{Additional Photos} The river was frozen solid at the boat launch so I was home by 1:00 PM. There’s no way to know unless I hitch up a boat and drive to the river. I haven’t been down there for almost 4 weeks so….. Doh!

I know…………… Where are all those fish when you are here?

I guess it’s just fishing John, some weeks they try to get into the boat and swipe the fly boxes and other times it’s as if they are extinct.

The steelhead fishing is going normally for me with a few caught and a few missed out on.

I am going to tubes this week because of a missed opportunity last week. My shank fly had the hook fouled in the body materials and was not trailing the fly. That resulted in one of the most solid hits I have had in years but the fish did not get hooked. There was no second chance either. Now I have made up a bunch of new tube flies and am headed away again on Wednesday for a few days.

Thank you for posting your feedback to me here guys, it ain’t over yet but I had to bag fishing today to get new truck tires so I can make it up the frozen boat ramps…….

I’ve tried to make the articles here more informational than the standard fish picture posts but I guess a few fishes won’t hurt.

Have you scrooled down to the pieces about Fish Counting and the one called Tracking The King? They both have plenty of photos and share some insight into what we are faced with here in our fisheries.

    thanks again for your comments,
